Hi,
Here we are, February already, and for those of us on west coast of Canada our focus is on the Olympics. This month's drawing reflects what all the buzz is about around here!

This Month's Drawing - Bobsled and Skiier

I have been using last month's drawings and the new ones for February with grades two and three and the results have been outstanding. I start by having the children think about the different sports and other things that can be associated with the Olympics. We think about the athletes and how they receive their medals on a podium. We talk about the torch and the Olympic flame and other symbols of Canada.

The picture we create is usually an "overview" of the Olympics with several sports shown along with the winners podium. The students have been very enthusiastic and have produced some very detailed art work.
