Your New Drawing Tip is Here!
Paralympic Sports
Hi,
It is so hard to believe that February is over and we are looking now at the month of March. February was a very exciting month with the Olympics getting started and finishing in Vancouver.
I spent most of February at teacher's conferences in both Alberta and British Columbia. I enjoyed meeting a lot of people as I traveled and I would like to thank each one of you who made comments and suggestions for future newsletters.
I also appreciated the feedback I received in regards to how helpful you have found the newsletters and drawings so far. Something that was brought to my attention is that a lot of classrooms are getting SMART Boards in them. Since offering the e-books on line, I have been aware of the "green" possibilities of using the e-books on the SMART Boards. Technology is a wonderful thing and I encourage all who can to "go green". I am pleased that Anyone Can Draw can do its part in helping the environment.
If you are a new member to the Anyone Can Draw newsletter I would like to thank you for becoming a member and let you know that in addition to this newsletter you can now download past issues. This way you will not miss the drawing lessons from previous months.
This Month's Drawing - Wheelchair Curling and Ice Sledge Hockey
When I started thinking about the Anyone Can Draw newsletter, I thought a lot about what Rick Hansen said when he spoke before the Olympics. He mentioned that after the Olympics there would be the Paralympics also held in Vancouver and it was his desire that those athletes would not be forgotten.
So for the month of March I have come up with a couple of drawings that show athletes involved in Paralympics sports. When doing the research for these drawings I was just made aware again that all athletes overcome many obstacles and some more than others. It is my desire as well that these athletes be not forgotten. So on March 12 – 21, 2010 lets each do our part to cheer them on as they reach for gold.
